The biennial Rolex Fastnet Race is one of sailing’s ultimate challenges. Ogni compleanno va celebrato come si deve. Chissà perché il 30esimo per noi è così importante. Si tirano le fila. Si fa un primo checkpoint della strada percorsa fino a qui. Si realizza che il tempo va in una direzione sola. Per me c’è poca differenza, 29, 30, 31, sono tutti vicini. Invece la vera discriminante è un’altra. Avremmo mai immaginato di festeggiare il mio compleanno, a febbraio, in costume da bagno ai Caraibi? Neanche a pensarci. Questo è il vero insegnamento che voglio portarmi a casa. Tante preoccupazioni sul futuro e poi la vita decide che devi prendere una strada a cui mai e poi mai avresti pensato. Occhi aperti ragazzi, e soprattutto antenne alzate! Non sappiamo mai cosa si nasconde dietro l’angolo. Che volete farci, l’età mi ha reso saggia… A domani! Camilla
