Aside from being a bustling #harbour with much marine traffic, the harbour is affected by tidal currents—two floods and two ebbs every day. Learning the current patterns to plan your sail into the harbour is essential, especially if you want to sail up the East River and into the Long Island Sound. A new option is to black anodize or powder-coat the majority of the aluminum and stainless steel fittings located around the boat. The mast, boom, cross-beam, longeron and seagull striker can also be wrapped in a carbon fiber vinyl. These were both first done on Hull 10, "Umbono" (Vision in Zulu) which was launched October 20, 2022. It looks great and provides a very bold look. We have decided not to go this route, but it does look really nice, especially with a non-white hull color! Want more?
