🚢 People often see the adventure, the travel, and the endless ocean views. But there's another side to life at sea that few people talk about. Being away from family, missing birthdays, festivals, special moments, and simply not being home for months at a time can be one of the toughest parts of being a seafarer. No matter how beautiful the ocean is, there are days when all you want is to be back home with the people you love. nobody talks about this, hardest part of being a seafarer, missing family, months away from home, lonely job, emotional ship life, sacrifices of seafarers, life away from loved ones, homesickness, emotional story, reality of life at sea, what seafarers go through, unseen side of shipping, life behind the ocean, touching seafarer story what is life at sea really like, do seafarers get lonely, hardest part of working on a ship, missing family while working, life of a sailor, merchant navy lifestyle, emotional seafarer experience, why seafarers miss home, life on a cargo ship, sacrifices made by sailors, real seafarer stories, human side of maritime life

With over 100 boats on the start line everyone was fighting for air shortly after the start, with the tide coming in all day it paid to get right early to find both clear air and some relief from the stronger tide out in the main channel. On the way back in the trick was to find the deepest part of the channel to ensure you were in maximum tide to increase your speed over ground. Things were still tight as we made it down to the Harbour Turning mark off Cork City. A checky 1720 slide inside one of our competitors when the did not have room which gave us few more seconds back from Control-J as we battled to move up the standings on Day 3 of Volvo Cork week 2024 The team at Bottom Up Boats hope you like this short clip from our week of racing at Volvo Cork Week 2024

Learn the "Anatomy of an Offshore Boat" in my book: https://bethecaptain.com/ If you’re heading into the 50s or 60s, a soft dodger won't cut it. I’m breaking down why Hallberg-Rassy sets the gold standard for cockpit protection. From integrated lighting to heat retention, this is how you stay dry when the conditions turn ugly. #boatbuild #hallbergrassy #yachting #sailinglife #heavyweather #maritime #offshoretraining
