Letâs dance to warm up đ Pierre shows his moves on the banks of the Qu'Appelle River in Saskatchewan. The QuâAppelle River crisscrosses southern Saskatchewan. It takes it source at the Qu'Appelle Dam on Lake Diefenbaker and flows into the Assiniboine River in Manitoba. It is very curvy. To give you an idea of conversion, 50 km of river was often only the equivalent of 30 km as the crow flies. Although this river is bordered mainly cattle farms, there is a great diversity of wildlife and birds. In addition, the Qu'Appelle River is part of the Great Trail, the Trans Canada Trail for a total distance of 166.73 km from Lumsden to Katepwa Beach.
This squall line really hit us by surprise. It was a wall of rain and almost 80 knot gusts that hit us full force. Unfortunately the holding in Black Sound at Green Turtle Cay wasn't the greatest and boats started dragging. Cory had to start driving on anchor trying to steer into the wind while taking pressure off the tackle. We ended up wrapping our chain onto a mooring ball in this madness which kept us in place. We faired far better than some, losing outboards boats dragging on moorings and some aground in the area. Luckly only our bow roller got bent and that was all. What an adventure! #shorts
Peacock Mantis Shirmp Meet the creature that looks painted by hand and armed by nature. The peacock mantis shrimp is one of the ocean`s most mesmerising little powerhouses â a riot of colour wrapped around a body built for precision, speed and surprising intelligence. In this short film, you`ll see the mantis shrimp in its element: watchful eyes shifting independently, vibrant plates catching the light, and those legendary club-like appendages poised with quiet intent. It moves with a mix of curiosity and caution, shaping its sandy doorway and tending to the hidden world inside. Part engineer, part artist, part boxer, the peacock mantis shrimp is a reminder that some of the ocean`s most extraordinary characters are found close to the seafloor, where colour and behaviour blend into something unforgettable.
