This week I visited Antalya, where the ARES shipyard held the launching ceremony for their magnificent 62 meter cruising ketch "SIMENA". We were only at George Town a few days last year. This year, we're got some more time to explore all that George Town Exumas has to offer. Today, we went out to hike to the top of Monument Peak and it ultimately took us over to the back side of Stocking Island, facing Exumas Sound. We’ve been quite impressed with the boat speeds we’ve been able to achieve so far, with minimal to zero fine tuning. On our first outing we had 9.3 knots from 12-13 knots of true wind, on a close reach. Today it was almost six knots from less than 9 knots of true wind, reaching. Keep in mind that it’s a heavy cruiser, not a racer. :-)
