And it was another one of those bad news days. After pulling up the deck on the outside we realised that the wood rot got into the samson post right on deck level. After poking a knife into the samson post to determine how far along the wood rot has gone (hoping we could safe the samson post) we quickly realised that it's rotten almost halfway through and it was a hard decision, I do have to admit it took a bit of convincing, I really wanted to save the old post, I really didn't want another project, it's all getting a bit overwhelming lately, like what the hell was I thinking, buying a timber boat... But yeah the boat builder and a few other friends did talk some sense into me, it is probably not the safest idea to moor your boat on a half rotten post. The boat.life visits the Georgia Sea Turtle Center in Jekyll Island, GA. We see a turtle bone shell repair and many turtles recovering in the hospital. Before leaving we adopt two turtles from the center. A loggerhead named Charm and a green turtle named Camachee.
