Schön, dass du hier bist! Wir, Emely und Tjark, haben uns den Traum vom eigenen Segelboot erfüllt, eine Maxi84, relativ spontan und ohne das ganz große Geld. Das Boot müssen wir noch umtaufen auf den Namen Meera. Wir nehmen dich mit auf unsere Reise von blutigen Anfängern zu hoffentlich passablen Seglern. Bevor wir uns in die Wellen stürzen können, liegt noch ein Berg an Arbeit vor uns. Umbauten, Änderungen und vor allem der Sportbootführerschein müssen erledigt werden. Last Wednesday, I went down to our local harbor for a dawn paddle on my stand up paddleboard (SUP). Sunrise on a spring morning is a special time, and what better place to see it than from the water? I stuck my bow into coves that are too shallow to reach on a "real" boat, and skimmed along the marsh shoreline for a closeup of the osprey pair in their nest. (They watched my progress carefully, but didn't fly away.)
