"We unloaded from the tender onto a white sandy beach where there was a pontoon-of-sorts, two men sweeping, a patrol boat and a lot of hermit-crabs. We tiptoed into the crystal clear water, in the lee of the curving coconut palms......... followed by some of the boys carrying bloody meat scraps. As soon as the blood began dripping into the water, the sharks were there. They shot past and around us with jaws snapping and tails flicking in every direction. As more blood and meat hit the water, their numbers increased and we were standing right in the middle of a feeding frenzy. Some of us snorkelled and the others just looked down through the water`s surface into the tangle of cruising killers! The sharks were black-tipped youngsters, but the profile of a baby shark and a full-grown adult is exactly the same, and when we put our heads into the water and scanned around, there was little to tell our brains that these babies were harmless! I kept my fingers curled into my palms......" (Joanna Simpson) https://www.thesevenseas.net/raja-ampat/
► Full test in Multihulls World N°192: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/trimaran/libertist-853-folding-version-one-standard-marina-slip-please ► On the trimaran market, fixed arm models are rare... apart from offshore racing boats and Neel, but these aren’t in the sub-thirty-foot sector. The Libertist's ambition was to establish a fixed structure in the 23-40’ (7-12 m) category. Bearing the signature of Erik Lerouge, the Polish shipyard Boat Project is now offering everything of the 853 folding version. A formula that allows them to join a small but active market, mainly occupied by Dragonfly, Corsair, Astus and Tricat. The 853 is elegant, extremely fast and manages to offer an amazing volume in a central hull of only 28’ (8.50 m). ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Boat Project Architect: Erik Lerouge Construction: Glass/epoxy foam sandwich (infusion), carbon arms Length: 28’ (8.53 m) Beam: 22’9” (6.94 m) / 13'7'' (4.15 m) Draft: 18”/6’2” (0.45 m/1.89 m) Unladen weight: 3,085 lbs (1,400 kg) Mainsail area: 430 sq ft (40 m²) Self-tacking jib: 194 sq ft (18 m²) Asymmetric spinnaker: 840 sq ft (78 m²) Engine: 9.9 HP ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests!
