If you don't have a launching trolley then the simplest way to get your boat up and down the beach is with an inflatable roller like this. Of course, unlike a trolley, you can take it with you, just deflate it and roll it up. Obviously you really need two or three (but I just have one - for now!). Don't get one that is too short or the boat might roll off the end of it. Of course a wide, flat bottomed boat works best. It was tight racing between the top two boats shortly after the start of the 2026 KYC Regatta. The team on GTR went for the kite early on a tight first reach to jump from third to second before heading down the lough on a square run to number 10.
