One of my favorite things about visiting North Minerva Reef is seeing the large schools of steep head parrotfish. These brilliantly colored fish are beautiful. They are a bit shy but we got some decent video anyway.

Thanks to their herbivorous nature, they eat algae on coral reefs, and because of that, they protect the coral from shading, impeding the coral’s ability to photosynthesize, which in turn benefits the overall #sea species that rely on the coral reef ecosystem.
