Fellow GFC Camper owners: I found some great, easy-to-install latch covers over on Etsy. I also squirted a bit of silicone grease down into the spring mechanism of my latches. So far, there have been no problems opening the latches in icy, cold, below-zero Canadian weather. Sailing out of Malta was supposed to be simple… until we realized we’d broken all three classic sailing rules in one go.
