He it is in the dyke leading to the first boatshed built at Hunter's Yard, in 1932 The skills used at Hunter's Yard are both timeless and endangered, those of building and preserving hand-buit wooden boats of yesteryear. Many of the boats looked after by the yard are nearly a century old, but they still sail as if they were launched last week. 🔍 Did you know? The Hunter's Yard fleet comprises 14 classic cabin yachts, and various gaff-rigged 'half-deckers, each with its own story and charm. These vessels are not just for show - they're available for educational use, RYA sail training courses, and public hire! Located near Kulusuk in East Greenland, Knud Rasmussen Glacier can be found at the end of Sermiligaaq Fjord. Sermilik Fjord is a big fjord west of the village Tasiilaq. The name Sermilik translates to ‘place with glacier’. The fjord is filled with icebergs because it receives water from multiple glaciers. While the Global Surveyor sailed in, we observed many whales and seals in their natural habitat, but no polar bears on the shore. Global Surveyor is set to sail to the Arctic for the summer.
