The J/70 Worlds has a new champion! Yonder (USA), the team from Newport, Rhode Island, powered by North Sails and skippered by Douglas Newhouse with Jeremy Wilmot on tactics, led from Day 1 and never looked back, clinching the world title after five phenomenal days on the Bay of Palma. The team praised their North Sails setup for providing the perfect balance of speed. "Once we switched to North, we had it all," Newhouse shared. Yonder also sported #NorthSailsPerformanceClothing, ensuring they performed their best on the water. In addition, Brutus II (GBR), skippered by Charles Thompson with North expert Ben Saxton onboard, secured 3rd place overall, finishing strong with a win in the final race. Tim Ryan’s Vamos (AUS) topped the One Pro division, while Alec Cutler’s Hedgehog (BER) and Sofia Giondi’s Wanderlust (ITA) earned podium finishes in the Corinthian fleet. With North-powered boats excelling across divisions, it’s safe to say that this regatta will go down as another incredible chapter in the #NSVictoryList. Experience the North Sails difference and take your J/70 racing to the next level. Thank you to 'Sea Cloud', HR 48, for sending us this great footage! Note the dinghy on davits... no affect on Hydrovane performance. As long as the vane can pivot freely, the dinghy can rest up on the Hydrovane drive unit or shaft. The line running forward is the remote course adjustment line. Looks like a smooth ride!
