A strong start today for the 49er teams at the Olympic qualifier in Lanzarote. Robert Dickson and Sean Waddilove Team Dickson Waddilove 49er Ireland topped the Day 1 leader-board with Ryan Seaton and Séafra Guilfoyle Out2Win Ryan & Séafra placing an 11-8-8 for the day. Conditions off Playa Blanca in the straits between Lanzarote and Fuerteventura were very unpredictable in the fresh trade-wind conditions with added ocean swell. “It was very tricky with the wind coming off the mountains so a ‘head out of the boat’ day but all-in-all, a great start to the regatta,” commented James O’Callaghan, Irish Sailing’s Performance Director. “There’s a long way to go in this regatta but we couldn’t have asked for a better start.” We'll be posting updates here daily. La giornata inizia come sempre al pc. Sono giorni pieni e noi vogliamo essere sul pezzo 💪 Per un cavillo burocratico mi ritrovo a percorrere per circa 8 volte il tragitto barca-capitaneria che dista più o meno 700m. Tenendo conto che il nostro contapassi normalmente piange, per me oggi equivale a fare una mezza maratona 😂 Scopriamo dai social dell’arrivo di Andrea Mura qui a Carloforte con la sua famiglia (con il quale eravamo già in contatto per lavoro, presto approfondiremo) e cogliamo l’occasione per incontrarci di persona proprio accanto alla loro barca. Il nostro soggiorno a Carloforte si conclude domani. Faremo rotta verso Cagliari, probabilmente con una sosta intermedia a Isola Tuarredda. Piano piano… Si torna! Cami
