Make the selvegee between two posts, belaying pins, nails in a board, etc.. hitch one end to a post, and start taking even taught turns, I took 16 turns for this one. On the last turn marling hitch all the way around, fairly close together, and make the two ends fast to one another. This makes an incredibly strong flexible strop that can be used for just about anything. Take care that the turns are as even as possible so that the load is distributed evenly along all the strands.
