In diesem Video fertige ich Textilscreens als Sonnenschutz für unser Boot an. Dadurch reduzieren wir die Sonneneinstrahlung um über 90 % und haben trotzdem eine gute Sicht nach außen. Als Material verwende ich Soltis 86, Tenax-Knöpfe, Gurtband, Klippverschlüsse, Klettband und als Nähgarn Serabond. Dies ist keine Werbung, da ich das Material regulär gekauft habe. Diese Art von Sonnenschutz kann auch in anderen Bereichen angewendet werden, wie zum Beispiel auf Dachflächenfenstern, Wohnmobilscheiben, als Markise bzw. Sonnensegel oder als Balkonsichtschutz. In this video, I make textile screens as sun protection for our boat. This reduces the amount of sunlight by over 90 % and still gives us a good view to the outside. Kalimera von der schönen Insel Skyros, der südlichsten Sporadeninsel in der westlichen Ägäis. Hier suchen wir in einem stillgelegten Hafen Schutz vor dem Starkwind "Meltemi". Mit den Klapprädern geht´s auf Inselerkundung. Kommt mit zur wunderhübschen Chora, mit dem Kloster und der Burgruine auf dem Gipfel und auf die andere Seite der Insel, wo wir in Lanaria Zeuge eines Anlegemanövers werden, das durch den Marinero an Land komplett im Chaos endet. Und dann fängt Dirk noch einen 10 kg schweren Thunfisch. Verhungern werden wir erstmal nicht. Kalimera from the beautiful island of Skyros, the southernmost Sporades island in the western Aegean. Here we seek shelter from the strong 'Meltemi' wind in a disused harbour. We explore the island on our folding bikes. Come with us to the beautiful Chora, with the monastery and castle ruins on the summit, and to the other side of the island, where we witness a mooring manoeuvre in Lanaria that ends in complete chaos due to the marinero on land. And then Dirk catches a 10kg tuna. We won't starve for a while.

Angekommen in der Ägäis auf den nördlichen Sporaden. Kommt mit auf die Insel Skiathos, wo wir als begeiterte Flieger gleich als erstes zum spektakulären Flughafen pilgern. Hier landen die Flieger direkt über dem Kopf, quasi zum Greifen nahe. Auch sonst hat Skiathos einiges zu bieten. Quer über die Berge der Insel wandern wir durch den Zauberwald auf die andere Seite der Insel und zurück. Die Strecke ist dabei nicht die Herausforderung, sondern vielmehr die Temperatur. 35 Grad im Schatten misst das Thermometer! Die Anstrengung lohnt aber auf jeden Fall: wunderschöne Natur, sattes Grün und jede Menge Spuren des schweren Unwetters vom vergangenen Jahr. Arrived in the Aegean on the northern Sporades. Come with us to the island of Skiathos, where, as keen flyers, the first thing we do is make a pilgrimage to the spectacular airport. Here the planes land directly overhead, almost within reach. Skiathos also has a lot to offer in other respects. We hike across the island's mountains through the enchanted forest to the other side of the island and back. The route is not the challenge, but rather the temperature. The thermometer reads 35 degrees in the shade! But the effort is definitely worth it: beautiful nature, lush greenery and plenty of traces of last year's severe storm.

Diesmal segeln wir zu den heißen Quellen von Loutra auf der Insel Euböa. Das Kurbad war schon in der Antike beliebt. Das Wasser ist ganz schön heiß! Das lässt sich nur früh morgens genießen, denn am Tage haben wir im Moment 41 Grad im Schatten - schwitz! Und weiter geht´s Richtung nördliche Sporaden. Nördlich von Euböa müssen wir gegen den Wind kreuzen. Ja, auch unser Kat kann kreuzen! Eine große Delfinschule begleitet uns und schwimmen jede Wende mit!!! Das haben wir zum ersten Mal erlebt - irre! This time we sail to the hot springs of Loutra on the island of Euboea. The spa was already popular in ancient times. The water is really hot! You can only enjoy it early in the morning, as it's currently 41 degrees in the shade during the day - sweaty! And on we go towards the northern Sporades. North of Euboea we have to cross against the wind. Yes, even our cat can cross! A large school of dolphins accompanied us and swam every turn!!! We experienced this for the first time - crazy!

Diesmal liegt ein ganz besonderes Highlight auf unserer Route: Die schmalste Meerenge der Welt. Diese kann aufgrund starker Strömungen nur nachts durchfahren werden. Während der Durchfahrt im Pulk mit einigen Segelbooten staut es sich gerade an der engsten Stelle bedenklich! Seht selbst, ob wir heil durchkommen und was wir noch so erleben auf dieser Tour. This time there is a very special highlight on our route: the narrowest strait in the world. Due to strong currents, it can only be crossed at night. During the passage in a group with a few sailing boats, there is a serious traffic jam at the narrowest point! Diesmal stehen zwei tolle Ankerplätze im argolischen Golf auf dem Programm, die aber sehr gegensätzlich sind: die idyllsche unbewohnte Insel Daskalio, wo einst Priester während der türkischen Herrschaft heimlich die Kinder der Umgebung in der Kirche unterrichtet haben und das komplett gegensätzliche Porto Heli, das touristisch und quirlig wirkt. Beide sind auf ihre Art schön und auf alle Fälle einen Besuch wert. This time there are two great anchorages in the Argolic Gulf on the programme, but they are very different: the idyllic uninhabited island of Daskalio, where priests once secretly taught the local children in church during Turkish rule, and the completely contrasting Porto Heli, which is touristy and lively. Nafplio ist wirklich eine Reise wert, allein schon wegen der Kulisse am Ankerplatz. Am Abend ist es besonders schön. Nafplio hat aber auch noch eine besondere Attraktion: Um zu Fuß zur Festung Palamidi zu gelangen, muss man 999 Stufen erklimmen! Oben angekommen gibt es viel zu entdecken. Kommt mit zu einem weiteren Highlight Griechenlands. Nafplio is really worth a visit, if only for the scenery at the anchorage. It is particularly beautiful in the evening. But Nafplio also has a special attraction: to get to the Palamidi fortress on foot, you have to climb 999 steps! Once at the top, there is a lot to discover. Diesmal segeln wir nach Koroni, einem hübschen kleinen Städtchen im Golf von Messinien, das bekannt ist für seine erstklassig erhaltene Festungssanlage mit dem Nonnenkloster, das noch in Betrieb ist. Durch das Burgtor betritt man eine andere Welt. Am Tag darauf segeln wir weiter nach Petalidi, wo wir eine interessante Ausgrabungsstätte erkunden und vor dem großen Regen mit Gewitterzellen schnell zurück zum Boot müssen. This time we sail to Koroni, a pretty little town in the Gulf of Messinia, which is known for its excellently preserved fortress complex with the nunnery, which is still in operation. You enter another world through the castle gate. The next day we sail on to Petalidi, where we explore an interesting archaeological site and have to hurry back to the boat before the heavy rain with thunderstorm cells.

Von Methoni kreuzen wir mit herrlichem Segelwind rüber zu einer unbewohnten Insel. In der Bucht liegen keine anderen Boote. Wir sind hier ganz alleine. Auch auf der Wanderung zum Leuchtturm treffen wir keine Menschenseele. Wir lieben diese Abgeschiedenheit. Bis plötzlich dieser riesige Fisch mit der großen Rückenflosse auftaucht ... From Methoni we cross over to an uninhabited island with a wonderful sailing wind. There are no other boats in the bay. We are completely alone here. Even on the hike to the lighthouse, we don't meet a soul. We love this seclusion. Until suddenly this huge fish with the large dorsal fin appears ...

Nach ein paar windigen Tagen in Pylos lichten wir den Anker und segeln weiter nach Methoni, das für seine Festungsanlage, die ins Meer gebaut wurde, bekannt ist. Endlich ist der Winter vorbei und wir starten in die Segelsaison. Unser erstes Ziel ist die zauberhafte Insel Zakynthos, die südlichste Insel im Ionischen Meer und für uns eine der schönsten Inseln Griechenlands. Kommt mit in türkisfarbene Buchten zwischen steilen Felshängen mit einer Vielzahl von Höhlen und Grotten. Was für eine atemberaubende Landschaft und mitten drin ankern wir. Our first destination is the enchanting island of Zakynthos, the southernmost island in the Ionian Sea and, for us, one of the most beautiful islands in Greece. Winter in Messolonghi, das bedeutet Jolle segeln im Januar, Heckträger für die Solarzellen bauen und diverse Wartungsarbeiten erledigen. Bevor wir im Frühjahr lossegeln, fahren wir mit einer Gruppe von Segler noch nach Meteora zu den Klöstern hoch oben auf den Felsspitzen. Ein absolut faszinierender Ort, der zum UNESCO Weltkulturerbe gehört. Aber seht selbst! Winter in Messolonghi means dinghy sailing in January, building an arch for the solar panels and carrying out various maintenance jobs. Before we set sail in the spring, we travelled with a group of sailors to Meteora to visit the monasteries high up on the cliff tops. An absolutely fascinating place that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. But see for yourself!

Wir fliegen für eine Familienfeier in die Heimat und landen dort in einem wahren Wintermärchen pünktlich zur Adventszeit. Nach vier Wochen geht´s zurück zum Weihnachtsfest an Bord und in der Marina.
