What a fun adventure through the Dominican Republic. All footage filmed with the #Insta360 X3 360 degree video camera.
This entire massive hotel was abandoned some time ago. I wonder why? Let me know what you think in the comments below.
Super cool little way to play around with my new Insta360 ONE X2.
While anchored out in my sailboat for months at a time I sustain myself through spearfishing. And no fish is more prized to me than the Permit. A super powerful fish with a crazy fight on it! My spear was not attached to anything. So if I let go, there would go my polespear and the fish. Check out this crazy fight!
I don't think you realize....... the extent....... of my new selfie stick!!!!!! Hahaha, so this is a really cool carbon fiber selfie stick I bought online. Works great, and get some really cool angles. Check it out! Here's where to get it: https://amzn.to/3qDbgGI
Quick funny little bit from just before I jumped into the water. These couple of Bull Sharks were great to swim with later. I just had fun dunking the camera into the water and watching them swim crazy fast after it. Now normally sharks in the Bahamas and elsewhere in the world don't behave like this. Usually they are much more skittish. But I was at a known shark feeding site called "Tiger Beach". As well, they were only attracted to small items that could be food being thrown overboard.
You did not know you needed to see this. But aren't you glad you did. :) Hahaha, ok, so Victoria started this running joke about wearing a cape around the sailboat as we were sailing throughout the Bahamas. So of course I joined in. And maybe took it a little bit too seriously. Hahaha!
Spearfishing in the Bahamas can be very dangerous at times. Sharks here are VERY aggressive. Ready to swim straight at you and fight you for your fish. Showing them that you're not going to be intimidated soo easily is the best way I know how to never lose your fish.
Experience of a lifetime! My good buddy Chad Barber of Barber Aviation happens to own an aerobatic stunt airplane called an "Extra 300L". This thing is like driving a race car in the sky. This thing is the embodiment and emboldening of "Freedom of movement"! To just go in any direction in the sky, at the push or pull of the stick, it's unreal! Just another day n the life. I love sailing and cruising the Bahamas. It's unreal and outstanding! And these simple moments as the last glimpses of the sun reach us are part of those great moments. All footage was captured on a DJI Mavic 2 Zoom. Enjoy! . . Yellowfin grouper are my absolute favorite reef fish to spear in the Bahamas. And this was my first one. An absolutely delicious fish with a hell of a fight on it. It was great getting to spend a little time away from everyone spearfishing during covid in the Bahamas to get away from it all. . . New Zealand is one of my favorite, if not my favorite, places to travel. Back in 2017 I spent five months there spearfishing and freediving throughout the entire country. Exploring not just on land, but under the sea as well was an amazing experience. The kelp forests were especially fun to dive through. Here you see me diving in the Coromandel Peninsula. After finding a cool rock formation, I knew I had to dive down and see what was underneath. Although there was no fish, it was still an amazing freedive and one that I'll never forget! . . Incredible discovery whilst I was free diving off the coast of South Africa so lucky to find this jelly fish and get a close up of how it moves in the water and the beautiful colours it has on display. Free diving is an incredible hobby of mine and has taken me to places all across the globe. I feel incredibly lucky to have been able to see so many sea creatures up close. . . . . Spearfishing massive Yellowtail Amberjack in Western Australia. Guess what this one weighed in at? I dove down intending to just get footage of this huge school of massive Samson Fish. But as I got level with the school, I discovered it was only the front part of a larger school. The whole back portion was many more monster Yellowtail Amberjack. I waited for a clean shot, only just missing the brain. But this shot stuck hard and my spear let me use all the leverage I wanted to so I could pull in this massive fish solo without using any floats. . . While coming back to my sailboat from a successful spearfishing session. A terrible storm from an unforeseen wind direction slams into the remote Bahamian bay I'm anchored in. I get blown JUST past my boat and thrown at the mercy of the sea. Full story and video coming soon........ Stay Tuned....... . . At the south end of the Great Barrier Reef, a large Humpback whale came up beside us and preformed an amazing breach.
