If there is one skill thing to learn being a full time sailor, it is patience. We are always waiting for, the weather, a part or in my case here, to go to court. And at this anchorage is really testing my patience. I clean up after the police search and can't find certain things. The swell and waves bounce us around. I nurse an infection I contracted in the jail cell. My computer decides to quit working. This place is cursed! But when the rain comes, it feels that it will wash away the curse. Until that rain becomes torrential. I'm definitely cursed here. 00:00 Intro 00:56 Search aftermath 02:26 Circus sailing 04:05 Free yet sequestered 06:15 Jail infection 07:09 Curse continues 08:24 Washing away curse 09:51 Next week Some say it’s The Best Sailing Channel on YouTube! In the previous episode I was taken into custody and taken to the police station. After being questioned, the contents of my bag were itemized by the police as seizure. In those contents were two small bags of weed. That was enough for the police to hold me in custody in the local jail. It wasn't until 24hrs later that I was taken in a van and to my boat with what the police had been waiting for. A search warrant. After a thorough search, nothing was found. The police took me back to the station and back in the cell. I was devastated. After an hour, back in a police van and taken to court where again I waited in a cell to be finally set free. But, I was to appear in court three weeks later. 00:00 Intro 00:17 Found what they needed 01:44 I go to jail 02:44 Got search warrant 03:46 Looking for what? 05:31 I'm a YouTuber not a Narco 06:57 Where to now? 08:58 Afraid to be free 09:16 Now what? 10:50 Next week Some say it’s The Best Sailing Channel on YouTube! Sailor Alex recounts his experience of being arrested in Tarrafal de Santiago, Cabo Verde, under circumstances he claim were misunderstood. Three months prior, they traveled from Tarrafal Cabo Verde to Dakar Senegal intending to repair his boat engine. After completing repairs, Alex had to leave Senegal by October 22 due to visa restrictions. He decided to sail to Cabo Verde for a brief trip to pick up his friend Wendy before embarking on an African journey with her. He brought three crew members on the journey. Two French world travelers and a Japanese cycling around Africa. On their arrival in Cabo Verde, local authorities insisted they must report to Praia for a formal check-in. Despite being assured by the local officials about the legality of their departure from Senegal, they were confronted by police who accused them of illegal entry and exit without proper documentation. The narrator tried to clarify their situation, showing valid stamps on their passports, but faced resistance from the police. Tensions escalated when the police refused to allow Sailor Alex to return to his boat to rest and recuperate from the tree day journey from Senegal. Frustrated and feeling unjustly treated, Sailor Alex attempted to leave the police presence, which led to a physical altercation. The police subsequently arrested him for resisting arrest, resulting in further distress and injury by putting him in jail for 24 hours until police were issued a search warrant to search his boat Ultimately, the police found nothing and Sailor Alex reflects on the unfolding events and the perception of injustice as he navigates the complex legal landscape in a foreign country. 00:00 Intro 00:17 Found what they needed 01:45 I go to jail 02:43 Got the search warrant 03:46 What are they looking for? 05:31 I'm a YouTuber not a narco 06:57 Where are they taking me? 08:04 Afraid to be free 09:16 Now what? 10:51 Next week Some say it’s The Best Sailing Channel on YouTube! We're under way on our passage from Dakar to Cabo Verde. Nearing the archipelago, I could see the difference in the ocean. This was Cape Verdean conditions. I’m all too familiar with them. My hopes were to get in and anchor before dark. We were not very fast the first couple of days. I could feel a current against us. We would sail in between the islands of Santiago and Maio. This should a real good Cape Verde sailing experience for the guys. The guys and Asahi rode Galopin's bow crashing through the rough waters. We arrived around ten at night. Made some food and went to sleep. It’s always amazing to wake up in the morning and realize where you anchored at night. We are all excited but no one was prepared for what would happen next. 00:00 Intro 00:21 The West African Atlantic 02:43 Asahi rides Galopin 04:28 Cape Verdean waters 05:14 Beauty & rough waters 09:24 Next week Some say it’s The Best Sailing Channel on YouTube! Just hours away from sailing from Dakar, Senegal to Cabo Verde. We just need a engine starter, ignition, alternator and diesel engine philosophy. We board the crew starting with Asahi, the Japanese cycle traveler who's cycling around Africa. As well as Paul and Gauthier from France who scrape the hull clean. That's when Paul is severely stung by a Portuguese Man Of War jelly fish. Then we set off on a three day passage to Cabo Verde testing out Simone out on the ocean. 00:00 Intro 00:24 Start her up 02:06 Arona's diesel philosophy 04:03 Last minute prep 05:42 Jelly fish sting 07:28 Simone breaks loose 09:25 Time flows by Some say it’s The Best Sailing Channel on YouTube!
