One thing special about our VDR onboard is that it has a float-free EPIRB for emergency situtations. That being said, the EPIRB comes with a Hydrostatic Release Unit for it's release mechanism. The HRU basically has the same function with the HRU for iferafts but the mounting of this one is different because it suits and clicks inside the casing of the EPIEB-VDR.
