Even for a 'normal' Vendée Globe, the finish to this single handed non-stop race around the world is an emotionally charged affair. Simply completing the course puts skippers in an elite club where everyone has succeeded, no matter where they have finished on the score sheet. But the 2020/21 edition has been a very unusual race with some outstanding performances. Steve Ancsell picks up the story as the front runners cross the finish line in Les Sables D'Olonne.
