Join me, Ryan the Rogue Rigger on my journey of restoring a Mach 2 International Moth that I picked up earlier this year. I plan on upgrading it with all the modern systems with out breaking the bank and then I will take you along for the steep learning curve of learning to sail this Tasmanian devil of a boat. I have dreamed of owning one of these since they first came out back in 2008 when I got to take one for a spin. It was an unreal experience/feeling that I have been chasing ever since. At the time they were crazy expensive to buy and not in my budget. These days they are still crazy expensive to buy new, now there are a lot of older moths on the second hand market that are relatively affordable (Less than a Laser/ILCA in this case). For those of you who don't know, an International Moth is a single handed 11 foot long hydro foiling sailboat. These boats literally fly over the water on two hydrofoils doing speeds 2-3 times the speed of the wind. Just a short video this week as I have been busy prepping my boat for my first Moth race. Unfortunately my brand new GoPro died on it second day of use and I did not have any footage from my last training session. GoPro is sending me a new one which is great. I did just pick up a really cool custom made trailer for my moth and this video is a short tour of it and my plans for it. Next video will definitely have some sailing and boat work!
