All ferrous metal, often the usual suspect in denying longevity in these boats, was removed and replaced with bronze; she got a replacement deck, cockpit and enchanting interior; and, very recently, a new engine. Subsequently TOM THUMB has been well proven cruising Baltic and Hebridean waters, and is very ready for more.
