Safety at sea; a multihull has compartments with the boat (a legal requirement) that brings buoyancy. Access to shallow harbours and creeks; less draft than a monohull, for example, giving you access to different sailing and cruising areas. Interior space; a multihull by the very definition of the design, has a great deal more storage space and overall interior "living" space than that of a monohull, for example. Speed & Performance; multihulls generally are 20 to 40% faster than a monohull. Residual Value; prices of catamarans hold their value extremely well, even used catamarans. Ease of docking; with 2 engines, the manoeuvrability is greater than for a monohull.
