Rough Night at Anchor & Smooth Sailing Back to the U.S. | Bahamas to Florida Crossing | S04E01

After an incredible micro-season sailing in the Bahamas, it was time to head back to the U.S.! We anchored just off West End to stage for an early morning departure, but it turned out to be a rough night. The anchorage was *super* rolly, and we were more than happy to lift anchor and get underway. Luckily, the crossing back to the U.S. was smooth sailing with calm seas and fair winds. Spotting land was a welcome sight, but it felt like it took forever to actually get there! Once we arrived, we were treated to a delicious dinner with friends-exactly what we needed after a long day on the water. The next day was all business. We ran into an issue getting a new cruising permit, which meant a trip to see the officials. Not exactly the welcome back we'd hoped for, but part of the adventure nonetheless! We got to enjoy some of that Florida sun and beautiful beach time too!
