PROTECTING the ANCHOR LOCKER Ep.177 Building my steel sailing yacht

6,697 Visualizzazioni· 24/05/24

In this episode I line the anchor locker with REALLY TOUGH rubber to protect the steel - hull, locker floor, bulkhead - especially over the long term; I finish adding ventillation screens and latch handles to the V berth locker doors and get them fitted; and fit a nice Rosewood spacer to the engine box to mount the engine start switch panel in order to protect the wiring on the inside. Mistress is designed by one of the highly respected Dutch naval architects E.G. Van de Stadt, a Caribbean design, length 40ft/12m, beam 13ft/3.9m, draft 5ft/1.5m. Her hull and decks are built in mild steel and I have built her on my own and am also fitting her out on my own. I have not built any type of boat before Mistress. There were many reasons why, but the work stopped,... However, the work has re-started, thankfully, and I am on an exciting journey to finish Mistress and then go on my sailing adventures,...
