Episode 082 The time has finally come! We're heading back to New Caledonia and we cannot wait to be back on our beloved floating home. We've spent 8 weeks in New Zealand and we cannot thank those enough for the support they've given to make our time in New Zealand possible In this video, we take you with us as we travel back to T?iko, leaving Clive, New Zealand by bus and flying to New Caledonia. It's always a nerve wracking moment when you come back to the boat after a while away for many reasons...mostly because boats like to be used and don't like to sit and wait for you to come back but T?iko was looking as beautiful as she always does. After years of being career focused, we decided it was time to shake things up and sought a lifestyle that would provide us with new experiences, humble us, allow us to visit remote locations, and experience new cultures. In 2021, we traded our regular suburban lifestyle for a nomadic one and moved aboard our sailboat, Te T?iko, a Chico 40. After three years sailing in New Zealand and preparing for Category 1 (regulations for New Zealand registered vessels planning to sail offshore), we set sail from New Zealand to Fiji on the 23 May 2024. This would be Vicki and T?iko's first ocean passage and Adam's third. We have since sailed to Vanuatu and New Caledonia, where we will be during the cyclone season. We fund our lifestyle by working part time. This sometimes involves returning to New Zealand to help top up the bank account. The other avenue is through our content creation where we document our journey though YouTube videos and our our social media accounts and website.
