Our Dinghy Outboard Keeps Dying! Ep. 36

We have been anchored here at Highborne Cay in The Bahamas for about a week now waiting for the wind to die down from blowing at 25-30 mph. We have had a great time walking the beach and spearfishing when we can. We also spent some time keeping up on the maintenance of our Westerbeke Diesel Engine by changing the fuel filters and fixing a transmission fluid leak. Check those videos out here: * Found Oil in the Bilge: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOWTXt7AwMs&t=9s * Changing Fuel Filters:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkkLMyGlMUo&t=624s We are now in our final days of being anchored at Highborne Cay in The Bahamas. We thought it would be nice to take the dinghy in to the marina to check out the local grocery store, which oddly smelled exactly like Kenzie's childhood dentist office back home..... It was a nice little store with a variety of items to buy. It even had a very large pet Macaw parrot that was fun to look at and listen to! We were aware that the prices of items would most likely be double the cost of what they would be back in the U.S. but, we were shocked to see that asparagus was $7.00 per lb. THAT is CRAZY!! We ended up buying cabbage, shelf stable milk, and a loaf of homemade bread. We also took in a small bag of garbage with us, which cost us $2.00 to get rid of. On the way to the marina and on the way back to our boat, the dinghy outboard was acting up and kept dying on us. We spent the rest of the night and half of the next day taking it apart trying to fix the problem. After taking it apart 7 times Randall found that the float bulb seemed to be the problem. Let's hope that's all that is wrong and we won't have any more problems with it. After fixing the outboard we decided to try going over to the nearby reef to spearfish, but didn't have any luck b/c of a curious shark. The reef was beautiful to swim around and had a variety of sea life to watch. We are so glad to have had this time to explore and experience Highborne Cay, but we are ready to move on further down the Exumas! *********************************************************************** THANK YOU for watching our videos and for SUBSCRIBING to our YouTube channel!
