OPCYC "Round the Lights Race" 10/14/17 - S/V Excelsior

This is just a few minutes of the 1st leg of the OPCYC "Round the Lights Race" that took place Oct 14th, 2017. The Skipper and crew of the S/V Excelsior chose to make the initial turn to port on an East by Northeast course, set on a close reach into 2' to 3' seas, towards the Thimble Shoals Lighthouse. I subtitled this, "The Wrong Way Round..." as choosing the initial starboard run to the Middle Grounds Light turned out to be the faster course this season.... "Weather is what you get, Sailing is what you DO with it." A wonderful sail was had by all who took part. Fair winds and following seas to all.
