She was built in 2003 at the CMB Shipyard in Cherbourg France. At the time of her launch, she was the largest performance sailing Catamaran ever built. In 2009 NECKER BELLE completed a two-year major refit in Australia. Her interior received a complete interior build-out with the addition of a fourth stateroom and the exterior upper deck was modified to achieve more deck space.
