Long Beach Two Gates Pursuit Race

The Long Beach 2025 Two Gates Pursuit Race is a three race sailboat series sponsored by the Long Beach Yacht Club. In this episode of Sailing with Scott, we're aboard a 2003 Farr 40 named Rode Rage, owned and skippered by Peter Cochran. The Two Gates Pursuit Race starts inside the Port of Long Beach, exiting Queens Gate and into the Pacific Ocean. It then continues up the Middle Breakwater to Angles Gate and enters the Port of Los Angeles. With spinnakers flying, boats head down the harbor and back out into the Pacific through Queens Gate, down towards the Alamitos Bay Inlet and then to the finish line. The races start and finish is in the vicinity of Mark 38 in Long Beach Harbor. Rode Rage finishes strong with a good crew, and enjoyed an extraordinary day of sailing off the shores of Southern California.
