Living Amongst the Albatross: An Intro to the Snares with Aaron Russ
Facebook Live Event Video Replay - The Snares Islands, Subantarctic Islands of New Zealand Aaron Russ and Isaac Wilson host a discussion and Q&A about the uninhabited Snares Islands, including a trip down memory lane as Aaron reflects on his time living there as a young field researcher. While at university, he spent six weeks one winter in The Snares conducting research on Buller's Albatross reproductive strategies. Because no landings are permitted in the Snares, the vegetation is unmodified and hosts an undisturbed habitat for birds and seals, including Snares Crested Penguins, Fur Seals, Hooker's Sea Lions, and an estimated 18,000 Buller's Albatross - all of whom were Aaron's neighbors!
