Diving in Kavieng, Deep Pete & Der Yangwrecks and coral reefs: The wreck of the Der Yang Taiwanese fishing boat sits in 30m of water near the Echuca Patch reef on the Pacific Ocean side of Kavieng. The Deep Pete plane is a Mitsubishi F1M float-plane, which was used by the Japanese Imperial Navy during WWII and sits in 40m of water on a sandy bottom.
