We quickly discovered that USB devises on a boat are a necessity - not a luxury and our screen time actually increased when we moved aboard. The two USB plugs we had on the boat were woefully inadequate to cope with charging our phones, tablets, kindles, GoPro and other devises that accompany a modern, mobile lifestyle which would end up in a pile on the nav table. So the only solution was to install a whole lot more outlets for our USB devises. Instead of running more wires through already congested conduits, we replaced the 70's style 24v bedside lights with car 24v USB plugs and here's how we did it!
