The YOT 53 is the first inboard power catamaran from YOT, and it feels like a 60 footer. Brad Kauffman and Steve Varrow walk every inch of her at Cannes. The YOT 53 carries over the ideas that worked on the Bali range: the tilting aft door that opens the salon to the cockpit, the full-size galley fridge, and the midline bulkhead moved aft so the interior runs uninterrupted from stern to bow. Then it adds a flybridge covering nearly 70% of the boat, twin Yanmar shaft drives, and joystick docking that spins her 360 degrees in her own length. What you'll see in this walkthrough: the forward U-shaped galley that takes up a third of the interior, with electric cooking and a 32-bottle wine fridge. The full-beam owner's suite with 6'6" of headroom, a dry head separate from the shower, and direct access to a private bow terrace. Guest and VIP cabins where every shower is full size, which is not how 53-foot power cats are usually laid out. The flybridge with its own cooktop, ice maker and refrigerator, seating up to twelve. Pop-up capstan winches that drop flush into the deck. A hydraulic swim platform that also gets guests with mobility issues into the water, and a 500 kg crane for tenders over 12 foot. Up to 5,000 watts of Solbian solar, cut from a digital print of the boat. Both helms, with every control mirrored. And Django from YOT on why Yanmar, what she cruises at, and why there's almost no hull slap. Don't skip the 48-volt section at 17:24. Order the full lithium package with solar and the air conditioning runs all night off the batteries. Generators are good for 20,000 to 30,000 hours, so on a charter boat that's the difference between replacing one inside four years or not. And you sleep without the hum. 0:00 Stepping aboard the YOT 53 0:19 Side Terrace Wings 0:33 Hydraulic Platform, Crane, and Water Toys Storage 1:12 The tilting aft door 2:09 The Salon and Galley, Modular Furniture 4:01 The Muxen system 4:42 Owner's cabin, Foredeck and private terrace 7:06 Solbian Solar Panels 7:33 Flybridge 8:54 Helm and joystick docking 11:02 Yanmar Engines and fuel 12:00 Optional lower helm, navigation station 12:26 Cruising speed, ride and hull slap 13:56 The full-size fridge 14:24 Port cabin, Day head and washer dryer 15:19 VIP cabin 17:07 How the YOT 53 is built: Infusion Foam Core 17:24 48 volts, and losing the generator 19:54 Joinery and finish 21:29 The YOT 53 coming to the USA soon YOT 53 SPECIFICATIONS Builder: YOT Power Catamarans (Catana Group) Type: Inboard power catamaran, flybridge Naval architecture / design: JNJ Design with Catana Group Length: 53 ft (approx. 16 m) Beam: 7.25 m CE category: A (ocean) Engines: Twin Yanmar inboards, 440 hp or 550 hp, shaft drive Cruising speed: 15 to 18 knots Docking: Yanmar joystick controlling twin engines and bow thruster, 360-degree rotation Layouts: 3-cabin owner's version or 4-cabin version Owner's cabin: Full-beam forward suite, king berth, dry head, lounge area, direct access to private bow terrace Salon: Up-and-over tilting aft door connecting salon and cockpit Galley: U-shaped, forward in the salon Flybridge: Helm station, lounging, dining, cooktop, ice maker and refrigerator Solar: Solbian panels, 700 W up to 5,000 W Electrical: Optional 48V lithium system with silent air conditioning, no generator required Systems: Muxen centralized control with remote factory diagnostics Construction: Infused vinylester with foam core Built: CatanaGroup facility in Aveiro, Portugal The YOT 53 made its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2026, held September 8 to 13, 2026, at the Vieux Port in Cannes, France.
