How to Replace a Shaft Strut, shaft seal and coupler on a sailboat - Sailboat Restoration - Part 3

This is the last of three videos where we show you the inner areas of Reverie, our 1985 Pearson 34 sailboat. As part of our sailboat restoration project we had to replace the shaft strut which was significantly damaged by low level current. This made it brittle and creates a safety risk for us while sailing. So we had a new shaft strut build by General Propeller and are now taking the fist set of steps to make the replacement and installation of our new shaft strut. On this episode we complete the final step in the installation of our new shaft strut, shaft, shaft seal, and coupler for our sailboat. We did this installation over two days. Day 1 was doing all of the measurements needed to properly shim and align our shaft with the stern tube and the engine. The second day was the actual installation. The video is short but there are a lot of captions explaining the key elements of the installation and also providing some key suggestions to help you make your project a smooth one if you are doing a similar project.
