In July, 2026, Helen and her husband Brian, sailed their 43' homemade aluminum sailboat Helacious nonstop from Halifax, Nova Scotia, to Bantry, Ireland. It took 18 days and nights and covered over 2700 nautical miles and multiple low pressure systems. Personal speed records were set along the way, with an overall average speed of 6.7 knots and a noon to noon distance record of 195nm.
