The Key West Poker Run is the most longstanding and impressive congregation of high performance powerboats in the marine industry. Held every November, in conjunction with RWC Offshore Racing World Championship, this event is a massive show of high performance boats of all makes, classes and styles. The RWO is the premier Offshore Racing Sanctioning body in the United States. From V-bottoms and catamarans to go-fast cigarette boats and extreme high performance center consoles with 5 and 6 outboard engines, this event creates a great on-water display of power, panache and pleasure. A poker run is a course where boaters stop at multiple checkpoints to collect poker cards while showing off their boat's aesthetics, speed and performance. Some of the world's most exotic, fastest and hottest boats participate every year, coming from across the country to compete for a chance to win the coveted first place that includes money and prizes. Leaving Miami and heading to Key West, participants make the trip in 3 days with stops along the way including Key Largo and Marathon. The route from Miami to Key West will have many boaters logging close to 400 miles round trip (for those who return to Miami at the end). The spring weather usually makes for excellent boating conditions and the Conch Republic is the ultimate boating destination to celebrate at the close of the event.
