Ep11 | Vlieland - A Dutch Gem on the Wadden Sea

We set out on an overnight passage from Borkum to Vlieland on the North Sea with a less-than-perfect weather window since the prospects didn't show any shift for the following week. It was a challenging sail as the winds turned against us halfway to our destination, causing us to have to tack back & forth and making Liv very sea sick. We were looking forward to exploring Vlieland - labeled a hidden gem in the Wadden Sea - the farthest out Dutch Island with much greenery, 12km worth of some of the most beautiful beaches in the Netherlands on the North side and a very quaint town in the middle of the island. Also, the island is known for it's lack of cars and tradition of biking. Biking trails are spread throughout the island through forests, sand dunes and neighborhoods. Biking around the island was the highlight of our visit to Vlieland!
