Defeated by sea sickness | Ep. 42

Getting moving again after a short stay in Lagos, we readied Ragdoll for the trip across the Algarve. After hoisting the dinghy and paddle boards, we say goodbye to Lagos and pass out under the bridge and into the ocean again where not all is well? Chris didn't observe his pre-passage anti seasickness routine and BAM? MAN DOWN! If Chris risks coffee in the morning, the sea had better be glassy flat that day, or someone's gonna be shouting soup? It can happen to the best of us. Daria did a stellar job of managing the boat while Chris feeds the fish? over and over! Chris reminds us that even Admiral Nelson occasionally sent his lunch overboard? A good bit of afternoon breeze saw us arriving at Vilamoura through the fleets of international 49'ers out training in the fresh conditions. We stopped on the waiting pontoon and got booked in for a few days of much needed rest and recuperation. The things Chris does for his art! Meanwhile Daria buys Luna (her favourite) several soft toys from the gift shop. Vilamoura surprised us with great marina rates for the off season, and plenty places to choose from on the eating out front. We managed to eat out in a squall by careful choice of waterfront eatery, with a mid meal table change! We definitely are now noticing the winter conditions on this coast starting to settle in. We are super grateful to each and every one of you & love to hear from you! Who are we? We are a family of three with three dogs - Chris, Daria & Jasper. We have two Golden Retrievers and a Bernese Mountain Dog - Hachi, Luna and Meems who sail with us. Sailing with dogs has its challenges, but we would not have it any other way. We have been sailing the coasts of Scotland for the last few years, enjoying each and every Scottish island, nook and cranny. In spring of 2023 we have moved aboard Ragdoll and left Scotland for the warmer climates of the Mediterranean. There is no set route or plan. We will go where the wind and life take us. We sail on a 1995 Gib'Sea 472 which has undergone a huge refit over the last couple of years. We made her our own and now? we're off on an adventure! Connect with us!
