A Day Of Two Halves - A Serene Posh Lunch Followed By A Race Around The "5-4-1" Course!!
This was certainly a day of Two halves. FIrst of all, with very little wind I decide tomotor out to Pirates cove where I test out the new Danforth anchor for the first time. This will be my main anchor when on the sea so I needed to test using it and also see how well it worked on the stoney floor of lake Bala. I brought a right old posh lunch with me today, it was a banquet of meats and cheese and more!!! With the wind building we decide to set sail and head for the "5-4-1" challenge. This is the other challenege the club has going this year and unlike the long distance challenge, this one is much shorter, taking you around markers 5, 4 and then 1. The race starts and finishes at marker X as usual. It proves to be a difficult course to steer in the prevailing wind but we do it and log our first time!
