74 - Our Fijian Cultural Immersion In Fulanga

Fulanga is one of the most remote inhabited islands we've ever been to. There's no airport. There's no cruise ships. The only tourists come via sailboat. And it is absolutely worth the trip. We completed our sevu sevu in the village of Monothaki and were adopted by one of the local families. Suka, Mary and Tui took us in, fed us until we couldn't eat anymore and made us feel so welcome. Another villager, Alifreti invited us to a kava party hosted at his home and it seemed like everywhere we went we were offered more and more coconuts. And we all know that's the way to Amy's heart! Not only were the people of Fulanga incredible, but the island is one of the most stunning we've ever seen as well. A drift snorkel through the entrance pass was quickly voted one of the best snorkels we've ever done. We found a "secret" beach that ended up being not so secret, but still had an amazing time exploring. Even though it was all too short, we'll always cherish the time we spent in Fulanga and the incredible people who make it such a special place. Thanks for watching!
