Tra un viaggio e l' altro in barca a vela nel Mediterraneo con la Maruzza, adoro esplorare i posti meno conosciuti e selvaggi del pianeta. Diversi anni fa e' toccato al Venezuela! Ho passato parecchio tempo negli Llanos, le pianure alluvionali che stanno tra l' Amazzonia e la costa tropicale. E' un posto davvero incredibile, infestato di piranha, caimani e ogni tipo di zanzare! La gente del posto e' dura come il cuoio stagionato ma anche accogliente e gentile e farsi ospitare in una fattoria sperduta nel niente e' davvero facile. Lì dominano i cavalli, le mucche e ogni tipo di fauna selvaggia, dalle anaconde ai caimani; dai delfini di fiume ai capipara, i piu' grandi roditori del mondo! Grossi come cani!! E' bellissimo ma anche un incubo! Vivevo nelle capanne dei locali procurandomi la cena come capitava, esplorando i fiumi in canoa e cercando di sopravvivere con quello che imparavo durante il cammino, Un' esperienza incredibile di liberta' che mi ha preparato per tutte le grandi avventure che poi sono seguite, dall' Africa, all' India ai grandi orizzonti del mare. With strong winds and big seas on the way, we set sail from Porto Pollo bound for Ajaccio — the capital of Corsica and birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte. As we approach, the wind builds to over 30 knots, giving us a wild welcome before we find shelter in the port that will be our home for the week. While waiting out the weather, we explore the city, visit the local chandleries, tackle some much-needed maintenance including restoring our teak decks, and treat ourselves to a brand-new drone to capture future adventures from above.

Our circumnavigation of the world in our own boat failed due to the pandemic, and now we're making a second attempt – with cruise ship Costa Deliziosa...: a questionable project for seasoned sailors! Will the amazing destinations offset the feared side effects of a cruise? We'll be wiser after the fact!

Seit Jahren träumen wir von einer Weltumsegelung. Mit genügend Erfahrung und dem eigens dafür angeschafften Boot, einer Wauquiez 40 Pilot Saloon, sollte es gelingen! Doch sechs Jahre nach dem Start und bereits 20.000 Seemeilen im Kielwasser „erwischte“ uns die Pandemie in der Karibik, kurz vor der Passage durch den Panama-Kanal!

For years we've been dreaming of a circumnavigation. With enough experience and the boat we purchased specifically for this purpose, a Wauquiez 40 Pilot Saloon, it was supposed to be possible! But six years after our launch and already 20,000 nautical miles under our belt, the pandemic "caught" us in the Caribbean, just before our passage through the Panama Canal!
