Hans Lo dragged himself away from the permanent nightlife of Hong Kong’s to enjoy a calm four days at the sunny Sanctuary Cove Boat Show.  He spent most of the show inside the enclosed fly bridge of the luxurious CLB65, the baby of the range. Described as contemporary, cool and comfortable the nephew of Cheoy Lee Shipyards Director Martin, was clearly very comfortable on the luxe weekender and could easily see his friends or family heading off for a weekend of yachting on Victoria Harbour. He kindly took a break from showing prospective clients the vessel to give us a mini-tour. With several levels of customisation available in this model the company’s white and orange brand colours could be seen echoed throughout the chic open-plan layout. There’s a certain timeless elegance to a Nautor Swan, and "Indigo", a Swan 55, is no exception. This Swan is designed, built and fully equipped for long-distance cruising in total comfort. Wir besuchen Morea, Raiatera und Bora-Bora. Das Wetter ist historisch schlecht, sodass wir diesen wunderbaren Inseln nicht gerecht werden. Ein wesentlich längerer Schlag führt uns ins 485 nM entfernte Aitutaki, welches zu den weit im Pazifik verstreut liegenden Cook Inseln gehört. Die Bewohner von Aitutaki haben deshalb eine künstliche Zufahrt durch das Korallenriff gegraben, welche zu einem im Bau befindlichen Hafen führt. Wir haben ideale Bedingungen, die Sonne scheint und das Meer ist glatt. Dennoch ist die Einfahrt schwer zu identifizieren und nur wegen der konzentrierten Gegenströmung zu erkennen. Die Passage ist schmal und die seitlichen Begrenzungen sind, selbst bei diesen Idealbedingungen, schwer auszumachen. Aitutaki ist eine typische Vulkaninsel welche von einem Saumriff umgeben ist. Eine Besonderheit ist hier, dass die zwischen Riff und Insel gelegene Lagoone nicht durch eine natürliche Passage erreicht werden kann. Die Cook Island Christian Church befindet sich ganz in der Nähe des Hafens von Artanga. Die Basilika ohne Turm stammt aus 1828 und hat ihren Altarbereich an der dem Meer zugewandten Längsseite des Kirchenschiffes. Habt Ihr konkrete Fragen? Full tour of this £22,000 EX RNLI LIFEBOAT WATSON 41 - ST ANDREW Built by William Osbourne in 1952. The 41 ft Watson non self-righting lifeboat was designed for service at stations which required a larger and more powerful boat than the standard carriage launched types, but which could not accommodate the larger Watson types through boathouse or slipway constraints. With production starting in 1933, this type of lifeboat was put back into production in 1948, nine years after the previous one had been built. The new revised version had an enlarged cabin which replaced the forward shelter. From 1963 eight of the boats, including St Andrew, were re-engined with 47 bhp Ford-based Parsons Porbeagle 4-cylinder diesel engines. The last four 41s to be built, however, were built with one cockpit aft containing the wheel, engine controls, shelter for eight crew and access to the engine room. She served at Whitehills, Girvan and Arklow but, as a new generation of lifeboats were being introduced, St Andrew had 3 spells in the relief fleet lasting in total about 11 years. As the normal life of a lifeboat is 25 years, St Andrew has not had a hard life, the engines being 19 years old when sold out of service, 8 years of that time having been spent in the relief fleet. St Andrew was the last Watson 41 to be built. It is believed she is the only one of her type largely as original, except for changes to her forard cabin and fore peak. She is much admired partly because she is sweet to the eye, having a low profile and very rare funnel that houses the engine exhausts.
