An Land zu gehen ist unmöglich, ein Ankern gefährlich. Gut, dass wir Zeit haben. Wir segeln weiter zur Ha‘avei Beach. Diese gilt als ausgesprochen geschützt. Doch auch hier das gleiche Bild. Der anstehende Schwell hebt MariaNoa 1-2 Meter an und droht von der nur wenige Meter entfernten Brandung erfasst zu werde. Wir werfen zwar zunächst Anker aber bereits um 09:00 abends gebe ich Kommando zum Anker auf und wir segeln lieber durch die Nacht nach Nuku-Hiva als uns länger der Gefahr auszusetzen an den Felsen zu zerschellen. Nuku-Hiva ist wesentlich näher als die Nacht lang ist. So treten wir auf die Bremse und segeln nur mit gereffter Fock einen weiten Umweg, um nicht vor Sonnenaufgang in der Anaho Bay anzukommen. Die Anaho Bay wird von Norden angefahren und schneidet tief ins Land ein. Folglich ist sie tatsächlich ausgesprochen ruhig und frei von Schwell. Außer MariaNoa ankern hier drei andere Boote. Wir wollen für wenige Tage bleiben. Beides soll sich bald ändern, denn ein ausgedehntes Starkwindgebiet zieht sich über ganz Französisch Polynesien. An eine Weiterfahrt ist nicht zu denken. The steering compass should be the most accurate traditional instrument on board, but it can be affected by magnetic influences within the boat herself. Swinging the compass to determine what these are, and so to compensate for them, is a vital part of responsible seafaring that’s often overlooked in today’s electronic world. Using practical time-honoured methods, there’s not a lot to it. In fact, it’s something that any sailor can do. All you need is a good mate, a quiet day, a hand-bearing compass and an hour or so to spare. Wenn wir in einer Woche einklarieren, ist das auch okay. Wir haben Glück. Einer von drei Ankerplätzen in der „ersten Reihe“ nahe zum Strand ist frei. Dankbar lassen wir unseren Rocna fallen und sind stolz und glücklich. Französisch Polynesien liegt mitten im Pazifik, quasi auf halbem Weg zwischen Panama und Australien. Der Inselstaat gliedert sich im Wesentlichen in die Marquesas Inseln im NO, den unendlichen Atollen und Inseln der Toamotus, der Gambier- und Gesellschaftsinseln sowie Tahiti im SW. Was für ein herrlicher Ort anzukommen und zu relaxen. Das Wasser in der Baie Hanamoena auf Tahuata ist sauber und klar, lädt ein zum Schwimmen und Schnorcheln, der Strand zum Spaziergang unter Palmen. Es gibt keinen Fußweg aus der Bucht, daher gibt es auch keine Bewohner. Wir Segler haben dieses kleine Paradies für uns. Mit uns sind die Crews der Machete, der Salini und der Walkabout angekommen. From saying bittersweet goodbyes to friends and packing our lives into boxes, to booking a one-way ticket to La Cruz, the journey was filled with emotions and excitement. First Impressions: Arriving in La Cruz post-hurricane was daunting. The town was desolate, but stepping onboard our boat felt like coming home. ** This boat has been sold. We wish the new owners many happy years on board ** Lütje Classic Coaster 40 for sale. Lütje Yachts is a household name in Germany. They are known for first-class boat building. The shipyard is one of the few companies that still builds every yacht entirely by hand. This Classic Coaster, a design from Judel/Vrolijk & Co, is one of a kind. The current owners have modified the original open version into a version with a deckhouse to enhance the boat’s functionality, making it ideal for extended coastal cruising and al fresco dining without worrying about the weather. Other improvements include a new stainless steel anchor system, luxurious upholstery throughout, numerous made-to-measure covers, and a custom-made cockpit table. All these works were carried out at the Lütje Shipyard in Germany in 2014 and has cost quite a bit but the result is more than worth it. She is powered by 2 Yanmar diesel engines of 500hp each with low engine hours. She is furthermore equipped with a bow thruster and trim tabs. This Classic Coaster is designed for day trips and short cruises. Below deck is a cabin featuring a big V-shaped sofa with a table that can be adjusted in height to create a big V-berth. To port side a small galley with 2-burner cooker and a fridge. And to starboard side a head compartment with wash basin and marine toilet. She is also fitted out with a Webasto heating system to keep you warm and comfortable during the chilly nights. This boat has been meticulously maintained. The boat has only been in the water for a few weeks a year over the last 10 years when the owners were here. The rest of the time it was stored on the hard completely covered under a watertight tarpaulin up to the underwater hull.
