We’re not always able to fly to a location to film the yachts that we have for sale. In the case of “Tasman” we sent a team of approved videographers and photographers, and I called Sean McCarter of Northrop & Johnson to get a better understanding of the yacht so that I could write an informative narrative. I quickly realised that this a a VERY understated vessel. You could easily walk past her in a marina without knowing anything about her world cruising history. She really has travelled the globe, and for anybody seriously thinking of doing the same thing, it would be a mistake to pass her by!

'Happy Hours' is a 2013 Lagoon 380 S2 now for sale with YOTI and currently berthed in Docklands, Melbourne. https://www.yoti.com.au/listing/lagoon-380-happy-hours Her current owner, an experienced Melbourne-based offshore yachtsman, has invested a significant amount of money in preparing her for a recent safe offshore passage. Since 2020, he has replaced her Raymarine instrument package both in the saloon and at the helm with new Axiom plotters and multi-function displays. 'Happy Hours' was optioned with the composite Bimini from new. In 2023, she had new cockpit covers fitted in charcoal grey with very clever built-in clears added. Her service batteries were also replaced and complemented with a 3000W inverter and upgraded charging system. Doyle sails fitted a new fully battened main and furling genoa in 2020, and the jib furler was also replaced. A Code 0 on a Karver KF2 furler was also fitted in 2020. As the three-cabin version, her master cabin is the entire starboard hull with a large double berth aft and a custom mattress. There is storage in the mid-ship area and a large head with a separate shower located in the bow. Her port hull has two spacious cabins at each end and a shared head's compartment with a toilet and shower midships. Und es hat uns beim ersten Test vor zwei Jahren schon beeindruckt. Einerseits macht sie optisch echt etwas her, durch ihre sportliche Linien, eine außergewöhnliche Lackierung, graue Segel und die dunkle Fensterfront. Optik ist natürlich nicht alles - sie hat auch Substanz. Sie ist als performantes Blauwasserboot entwickelt worden und diesem Anspruch wird sie auch gut gerecht. Die Werft hat sich viele Dinge einfallen lassen, die das Boot zu etwas ganz Besonderem machen. Alleine die seegängige Aufteilung, die einfache Leinenführung für kleine Crew und die bewegliche Salongruppe zeigen das schon. Es sind aber die vielen durchdachten Details, die den Charme des Bootes ausmachen. Und natürlich die hohe Bauqualität und Performance. Im Video schaffen wir es locker flockig und ohne großen Trimm auf 9,5 Knoten. Wir haben es damals bei unserem ersten Test gesagt und sagen es wieder - das Gesamtpaket ist beeindruckend. Es ist nicht das typische Blauwasserboot, der Regler ist hier deutlich weiter Richtung Segelleistug geschoben.
