After many successful years with charter gulets, and a lifetime spent on the sea, owner and Captain Frano Gugic has refurbished CARPE DIEM 7, the celebrated sailing gulet with a history of competing successfully in the acclaimed "Bodrum Cup" regatta. Recebi a bordo para charter o casal Flávia é Luciano, de SP. Fizemos uma velejada entre Alter do Chão. Santarém a Ponta dó Manguari. Belterra. Onde pernoitamos. A noite, fogueira na praia e bom papo... Manhã seguinte, os leve a comunidade Jamaragua, para fazerem a trilha na FLONA Floresta Nacional do Tapajós. 10 km no meio da floresta primária, guia Sr Dido, dando um show de imitação de pássaros e transmitido todo conhecimento, sobre a floresta, adquirido desde a infância com seu pai. O gostoso da trilha e poder se refrescar em um Igarapé de águas cristalinas é bem gelada, no meio da floresta, totalmente preservada. Na tarde, velejada top, no contravento até Alter, onde desembarcaram. Certos que a vela havia entrado em suas vidas e com o nome do futuro veleiro, já escolhido! Hi guys, yes we kind of half expected this one…. sorry it’s a bit of a sad one and even a few months later editing this one brought back a lot of emotions. This was so hard to take at the time and we were completely devastated, it took a month or so to get back on our feet and this has led to a rethink of our plans with the charter business. Don’t worry, it’s not the end of the world and Aurora will be back in the water next year after an extensive repair which we hope to cover in a series over the winter.
