David Payne of the Australian National Maritime Museum gives us a little inspiration for the Australian Sailing Hall of Fame with a look at Barrenjoey, the 5.5M yacht which was sailed to Olympic glory in 1964. Grandfather Bill Northam and crew Peter “Pod” O’Donnell and James Sergeant, won Australia’s first Olympic sailing Gold medal in Tokyo in this beautiful boat which was designed in the US but built in Australia. Nominations for the Australian Sailing Hall of Fame close on June 16, so get your nominations in 👉🏻http://www.sailing.org.au/australian-sailing-hall-fame/
http://blog.boats.com/2013/02/desperate-to-go-fishing-busting-ice-at-the-marina/ For more videos about fishing, visit www.boats.com. Sub-freezing cold may have the marina locked up in ice, but dedicated anglers will still feel the urge to go fishing, and even if the fish are frozen stiff, a day of recreational oyster tonging or some simple cold-weather cruising can cure your cabin fever. But busting out of the slip or boat ramp can damage your boat's fiberglass. For all you winter boaters with a mission, this ice-breaking tactic will get you out on the water, without doing any harm.
