The Multihull Centre is, we believe, the oldest boatyard in the world that specialises in multihulls. Founded in 1968 by Pat Patterson of Heavenly Twins catamaran fame it has been my home base since 1982. Sadly I am not often there these days, but did take this video today of the boats in storage. Dazcat build their boats here, but for general yard details see here http://www.multihullcentre.co.uk/ See my designs at www.sailingcatamarans.com of course
Where have we been? We've been spending 100% of our time creating SSL Season 7 for YOU, and this is our new channel trailer for it! It starts in Colombia before we set sail for the absolute spectacle of islands known as the San Blas Islands of Panama, then we make several stops along the Panama coast, including a stop at the Panama Canal and Panama City where we put our feet in the Pacific Ocean for the first time! From there we take you on a ride to the remote islands of San Andres and Providencia in the middle of the Caribbean Sea which are owned by Colombia, before sailing through the pirate waters of Nicaragua to make landfall at another tiny island paradise north of Honduras! Extra stops at Roatan, Utila, and Belize are all on the horizon in SSL Season 7... If you haven't yet subscribed, what are YOU waiting for? NOW IS THE TIME! J109 Going to Red on the way back to the Bar Buoy in the annual curtain raiser to the annual narrows series on Strangford lough. After getting off to a fast start in the strongest current GTR held the lead around the first 3 marks before Elixir took the lead on the run back to the Bar Buoy. The crew on GTR caught a few decent waves to close the gap, once they were on the stern of Elixir all the needed to do on the way home was stay close, with a minute per hour on the leading boat on Handicap they only needed to stick close to take the Bar Buoy Race on corrected time. The team at Bottom up Boats hope you enjoyed this short clip from our racing at the annual Narrows Regatta on Strangford Lough.
