One of our favourite places to go in Trinidad is Tucker Valley, in the Chaguaramas peninsular. Filled with jungle trails and waterfalls, it's also home to some old military installations like abandoned Tracking Station. Near Covigne River, there are some old bunkers left over the the US military occupation of the area. #urbanexploration #military #jungle
Gibraltar is BY FAR, one of the MOST INTERESTING places we've ever sailed to. Inside and around the Rock of Gibraltar are so many historic war tunnels, that it's almost impossible not to feel captured by the spirit of adventure. One of the best places we visited was the Northern Defences, a series of World War and 1700s military tunnels and ruins that speak to the history of this small but proud British territory. In the process of being cleaned up and restored, we visited at a time when it was free and almost deserted, making it an experience we'll never forget. If you're visiting Gibraltar or even travelling around Spain, I highly recommend you see what the Rock of Gibraltar and Northern Defences has in store! 👉 SUPPORT THE PRODUCTION Tip jar: https://buy.stripe.com/6oE8A1d9Yabj4OA9AB ⛵ Gain access to our member only area: https://www.travelsketchsailing.com/join-in After backpacking Asia, road tripping Europe and doing a bit of van life, we’re now exploring the world aboard our Leopard 45 catamaran. Living on a sailboat, we come across the authorities far more often than you might expect! In the Mediterranean we experienced the Algerian and Croatian navy (Algerian was super stressful!!), and the Italian financial police, but Trinidad is the first time we've been stopped by the coast guard. It was late at night, around midnight, when we saw their blue flashing lights come at us as we motored through the First Bocas, returning to Trinidad after months sailing up and down the Caribbean island chain. We didn't expect to see Trinidad's coast guard, but it's nice to know they're out there. 👉 SUPPORT THE STORY TELLING ⛵ Gain access to our member only area: https://www.travelsketchsailing.com/join-in 😎 Tip jar: https://buy.stripe.com/6oE8A1d9Yabj4OA9AB After backpacking Asia, road tripping Europe and doing a bit of van life, we’re now exploring the world aboard our Leopard 45 catamaran.
