What a fantastic day at our Traditional Boatbuilding Skills Experience Day! It was a pleasure to welcome a small group of enthusiastic participants who spent the day learning the traditional woodworking techniques used to build and restore wooden boats. From developing practical hand skills to gaining a deeper appreciation of our maritime heritage, everyone had the opportunity to experience the craftsmanship that keeps these historic vessels alive. This beautiful Sparkman and Stephens has a colourful history in racing and also in the Charter industry, known as Samurai at one stage and Gyspy Dancer.We purchased her a few weeks ago from a mooring at Airlie Beach, in a bad way, headed to Rosshaven Slipway in Townsville for a restoration.
